A warm welcome to my little corner of the web. So who is this man upon whom you have stumbled? Well I am actually going to give the briefest of overviews, before leaving it to the comments of others … If I am to write positives, I would much rather it be derived from the opinions of those other than myself!
However, I am in a nutshell as follows:-
Thought christened Rohan Alvin Kallicharan, I regularly answer to the names Ernie, Carlton, Bishop Tutu or Chief
A Media Graduate from Liverpool John Moores University who, as with many, ended up in a career alien to that for which I had studied
And found myself as a Recruitment Consultant, specialising in the provision of mid-senior level HR and Finance personnel mainly to the Private Sector
And is now a Business Manager for a niche recruiter focusing on mid-senior level appointments in Procurement / Purchasing
My main passions in life are sports and God, albeit not necessarily in that order
In terms of sports, I have regional or national youth representative honours in cricket, hockey and swimming
Vis-a-vis God, I am enrolled, as my friends describe it, at Vicar School – in other words a P/T Degree in Theology
I am also a Volunteer Youth Leader, Church Warden and teach various adult workshops within St Martin in the Bullring, where I am also a Trustee
I suffered from Bipolar Disorder for several years, much of which shapes my writing, and I am an active fundraiser for MIND
I lost my fiancée, who passed away in November 2009, which has also shaped some of what I write and much of my approach to life
In February 2013, I had reached barrel proportions, but am back in training for the BUPA Great Manchester Run
I have previously run 4 Half Marathons for various charities and have entered the Ballot for the London Marathon in 2014
The Various Faces …
As promised, here are some of the things that people have said about me and my work …
A special #ff for one of the nicest people I’ve met on here. Fine writer, better bloke. That would be @ro_jito.
